The buildings around towered over the little red fox like pup and the equally small white rabbit as if to say: 'you are insignificant and puney'. The shadows had strung many eerie looking beasts and scared both of them half to death. His eyes were watering with fear at this place he couldn't remember. The rabbit watched sharing his fear as if it were his own. They both wanted to run away to a bright less scary place where there was nothing but the light. Of course that was impossible. This run down city was too big for such two small babies like themselves to escape from, at least if he had another wolf friend he could get out of there.
One black paw at a time Scamp walked catiously through the rubble filled streets. His rabbit companion close behind. Without the humans the place was deteriorating and everything was crumbling. From the near disance a large rock fell from an open balcony sending a crashing noise over the entire city. It was so quiet here. Too quiet and that noise frightened him more than anything at that time. He whined and darted. His front paws slowly began to set alight leaving flaming pawprint shaped fire pits on the ground. He didn't get very far. With his tiny legs he got as far as the first alley way he saw. Kit came flying in soon after his heart racing ten times faster than Scamps. It was too late to check if someone was there but after hearing his heart racing the scent of another wolf entered his nose. Scared out of his whits he lowered himself to the ground crying and waiting for whatever was going to befall him. Kit pushed himself between his front paws and trembled. They both closed there eyes and tried to escape to a better place through thier minds.

Frost lay sprawled across a big human bed. It was large and cozy. She was in one of the stable buildings. Theyy made suprisguingly great shelter from rain. And they quieted some of the outside noises. Frost had stopped in the city. She had been here for a few days, looked around, and hunted. She knew the place pretty well now. It had good shelter and prey. But personally, she thought it was creepy. All these red and black buildings collapsed gave no noise. It was vary sielent. Frost heard the noise of the falling rock and it woke her up. She gave a big yawn. Her companion, a snow falcon, woke up too. She hoped off the bed and leaped out the open window of the one story house. She walked along the roads, her companion soaring above her. Suddenly she saw movement in a ally. She trotted over to investifate. Shebsaw something moving near a pile of bricks. A wolf! She galloped over snd stood next to the wolf. A little red vulp... how cute. Her falcon flew down and sat on Frosts back. " Hiya? Who are you?" she said happily. There wern't many wolves here, she hadn't seen one in days!

Flamepaw had lowered himself so low to the ground that he was almost squishing Kit beneath his neck. He wanted to cry or howl. Do something other than sit here like the coward he was. Kit wriggled out of the small gap beneath his neck and stood on two feet with his paws pressed to Scamp's cheek. It's okay I'm scared to, Kit thought. He chose to ignore it as he continued to sulk. With his eyes closed he tried to relax while Kit pushed his way under his neck and did the same. Nothing Kit would say could make Scamp any happier. When the snow white Vulpes approached they both heard as each paw met the ground. Both thought it would be a good idea not to move so they didn't. Even their breathing was unnoticable. But that didn't work the white vulpes spoke and both could hear how happy and thrilled she was yet it frightened both Kit and Scamp making them scream and run away. The alley was short and went to no where so they didn't get very far. The small burst of energy and the scream had mixed together makign his heart race faster than regular speed. Yet again he crouched to the ground too scared to go anywhere else. Thats to first wolf we've seen ever, Scamp thought, and we just ran away! We could go back? Kit answered his thoughts glancing at the white fox-like wolf at the head of the alley. In situations like this Kit was always the one to approach another. If he got attacked then Scamp would lose his mind and attack back. Whatever happened the red vulpes pup cowering in the corner would shine up to a vulpes' expectations. Kit hopped down the alley eyes watching the snow falconperched on her back. Once close enough he stood on two legs, front paws covering his fluffy white belly. "Are you friend or foe?" he asked but of course the wolf wouldn't here. Kit had always wanted to use that line yet he could oly speak to Scamp. Scamp chuckled lightly in the corner when he heard the question. Seemingly calmer he raised off the ground slowly watching with wary eyes.

" Friend. I'm sorry, i didn't mean to scare you. I hadn't seen a wolf in days." Frost said, her hears flatted to her head. She slowly walked twords the red vulpes in attetmpt not to frighten the vulpe. " Hi, i'm Frost. Whats your name?" She asked the small wolf. Then her falcon, icicle, glanced around. No one. " Are you and your rabbit all alone?" asked Icicle. Frost felt her heart sink. This small pup was abandoned. No one to train him or love him or protect him or feed him or take care of him. But at the same time she had a connection.
Frost was abandoned as a pup, too.

Hearing she was a friend Scamp loosened up a little and rose from the ground faster than his extremly slow pace before. The white wolf slowly walked closer and the little red vulpes pup rose completely to his feet. "I'm Flamepaw, but friends call me Scamp." he said timidly. Kit came bounding back to Scamp and slid in under his belly watching with wary eyes as Frost continued towards them. They were both a lot more calm than before knowing that she would not harm them but Kit wasn't as trusting as Scamp was. The snow falcon sitting on her back was scary, in Kit's eyes, as he was a predator and he was the prey. I don't like the looks of the falcon, Kit thought with a hint of aggression. Frost seems nice and we need to keep calm she might take us in! We might finally be with someone! Not alone! Scamp's feelings of excitment overpowered Kits and he found himself excited too. Speaking aloud now he glanced at the floor, his ears pivoted taking in the sounds of her paws and her breath. "I woke up alone. I don't know what happened. I was all alone. Kit was the only one who was with me." His voice was a little shakey for this was the first time he actually spoke about it.

Frost walked up beside him." I'm so sorry. I know how you feel. When my pack was traveling down the mountain, we went through a blizzard and i got separater... ive been alone ever since." she said. She noticed the ribes sticking out of scamps side. How terrified she was. " I-im going to a forest soon, would you like to come with me?" she asked. This little pup needed help. And she would give it to him. She would take him out of this terrible city to the marsh, and on the ling journy she could teach him things. By the time they reached the marsh, he'd be well fed, great at hunting, and a expirienced battler. His partner too. She'd stay for a few days, get him a territory, help him explore it, and help him settle in. Then she'd leave. He would be abandoned again, but this time it would be different. He would have a home. a future.

"A-A blizzard?" Scamp had no clue what one was but whatever it was he didn't like the sound of it. It seemed harsh and taunting whatever it was. He began to think of what a blizzard was but came up short staring at Kit who was sharing his confusion on the matter. Kit pawed the ground unsure what to say in response. If Kit didn't want to go neither did Scamp. Neither had been with another wolf in quite a while so it was hard to convince Kit to agree to it. Scamp spoke witha half smile on his face. "I guess that would be good. Better than living here." he shivered and shook his coat. The cold was just coming in.

" Wonderful. I'll take good care of you." Frost purred. " And, a blizzard is like a rainstorm. But snow instead of rain. Snow is white pretty cold stuff. Like this." she said, using her power to make a small snowstorm behind her. " Like that but a million times more. But ill take you to a place with no blizzards." Icicle flew around happily in the snow.

Kit bounded into the small snowstorm happy and excited. Snow was something he felt joyous about and it hit Scamp like there was no tomorrow. He wanted to join in but he was afraid what might happen. Don't be scared! Kit thought, It doesn't hurt Flamepaw slowly walked towards the smll snowstorm and as his face entered it his eyes began to shine like a child finding something out for the first time. His eyes glisten and a large smile was present on his face. As he jumped to catch them his exceitment got the best of him. Heat began to irradiate from his fur melting the small snowflakes. He was so happy that it was hard to control his powers over fire. The tiniest of things would set them off. And just like before his paws ignited and were wild with flames. Oblivious to this Flampaw kept bouncing around until the snow disappeared.

Frost winced at the sight of fire. Fire was wild and ruthless. Snow was buitiful and delicate. But she gave herself a shake to calm herself down. Icicle soared down and landed in from of kit. He cocked his head and stared at the rabbit. " Um, you paws are on fire." Ssid frost. It was odd to see a wolf with the power of fire. She had grown up with wolves that had the power of snow, coldness, and light. Red vulpes had the power of fire, warmth, and lava. Fire melted ice. Then a fearful thought came to her mind. Could they get along? Or would this be the worst, and last, mistake she'd make in her life?

Flamepaw looked down at his paws but as he did they immediatly went back to normal. Not one bit of fire was present when his eyes locked onto them. He lifted one then examined it then looked at the other. Both were the same with soft pink padding. He glanced at Frost and looked to the floor afraid to meet her gaze. Whatever she was thinking it might not be a good thing. Kit stood on his two back feet showing he wasn't afraid of the bird in front of him, despite the size difference. His eyes studdied his feathered body as the tension between the two grew. Scamp sat down and his tail curcled over his paws. "I...I'm sorry," he said still keeping his eyes off her.

" O-oh, its fine." she said. " You fid nothing wrong. I- im just not ust to fire. Im ust to ice and snow. Y'know, not much fire in the world." She said saddly. She glanced at her paws. She was ashamed and guilty. She judged the little guy just because of his power! How many times had she been judged weak because she was a girl and a orphin. She should'ove known better. She could do that to scamp. She gave scamp a sorry glance. She make it up to the small red vulpe.

Flamepaw looked up but only for a moment while she spoke. At least that made sense. Fire did melt ice. He was a little upset with himself for not being able to control his powers and frightening Frost. It was part of who he was. Kit darted from Icicle to the safety of Scamp's legs. He could feel what scamp was feeling and he found tht he might stick to him for a bit. Cheer up! She didn't mean it! Kit thought looking at Frost with somewhat judgmental eyes. I know but i hate not being able to control them, Scamp pawed the ground beside Kit. Scamp's tail sat over them and he lowered himself to the ground till he felt Kit and didn't move anymore. He felt horrible. Enough said.

" Please dont be sad." She saidk laying next to scamp. " I once was terrible at controling my powers. Kept blowing snow in wolves faces, Flashing bright light that scared prey." She said comfortingly. " But i got better, just like you. It all comes with age. And expirience. I'll help you, together we will tame your fire." She stood up and gazed around. Nothing. The border was far... they could skirt around it... But then where. Oh! the volcano! She had heard myths of a fiery mountain near the northern peak. Lave oozed in it. Nobody could lived there but prey and fire wolves. Sure it was a myth, but she had felt warm breezes from there. And smoke. Even if there was no volcano, thered be a warm place. Across the airport. Through the marsh. Across the northern ridge. There it would be. There must be others there like scamp to help the little orphan.
